Who is Pet Minders?

We only hire pet sitters that have shown a life-long interest in pets and their well-being. Our pet sitters completed obedience classes with their own dogs, and so can better understand your dog’s mental needs as well as their basic physical needs.  They all have cat experience as well, so can interpret what your cat is communicating by the swish of their tail.  We only hire the best!

Leslie Soden – Owner & Head Pet Sitter

In 2006 Leslie made the life-long commitment of starting a pet sitting business here in Lawrence.  She has been working with dogs since 2003 and currently has one toy poodle, Charlie.  For two years she apprenticed & taught dog obedience classes, and has completed many agility and obedience classes with her own dogs.  Purchasing her own home in 2003, she is a permanent resident of Lawrence, and is actively involved with her neighborhood association and the Lawrence Jayhawk Kennel Club.

Matt Long – Pet Sitter

Matt Long joined Pet Minders in May 2013. He owns his own home in the Barker neighborhood and has lived in Lawrence for 19 years now, and has been a friend of the family nearly that entire time. He has a soft spot for cats, and during his life he has owned 7 cats and 3 dogs. He has already won over a couple of the shyer dogs we sit for. When he’s not spoiling his cats, he is watching baseball, and the Royals are his team of choice.
