Who is Pet Minders?

We only hire pet sitters that have shown a life-long interest in pets and their well-being. Our pet sitters completed obedience classes with their own dogs, and so can better understand your dog’s mental needs as well as their basic physical needs.  They all have cat experience as well, so can interpret what your cat is communicating by the swish of their tail.  We only hire the best!

Leslie & Sara

Leslie – Owner & Head Pet Sitter

In 2006 Leslie made the life-long commitment of starting a pet sitting business here in Lawrence.  She has been working with dogs since 2003 and currently has one toy poodle, Charlie.  For two years she apprenticed & taught dog obedience classes, and has completed many agility and obedience classes with her own dogs.  Purchasing her own home in 2003, she is a permanent resident of Lawrence, and is actively involved with her neighborhood assocation and the Lawrence Jayhawk Kennel Club.

Whittney – Pet Sitter

Whittney worked for Pet Minders previously in 2008 and has re-joined us again in 2011.  She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree at KU in art and psychology. She has had pets since she was a child and currently owns 2 dogs and 2 cats with whom she is passionate about as if they were her own human children.  She has completed dog obedience classes with the Lawrence Jayhawk Kennel Club and has obtained CGC (Canine Good Citizen) certificates on both her dogs.
